Photos, Mindfulness, and the Night Sky

Lately, I have really enjoyed taking photos of the details, the swirl of nature’s palette, the beauty…that I find.
.
And the sky has been unusually expressive with clouds and mood swings.

I was glancing through a magazine to see if it was something to keep or throw away, and I caught an article titled “Turn a Lens Toward Your Life: How snapping photos mindfully can help you find focus” by Anne Ford in Natural Solutions (May 2008). It talks about how taking photos can reduce stress, allow you to focus in the moment, and help you stop thinking about a million different things and just see what is in front of you. The article tickled me and made me smile because I have found so much joy in small details lately. And I have been so thankful for this experience of beauty.

  1. Last night on the way home from the summer social we experienced the grandeur of STORM clouds here. The purple-black sky and the winds cause one to appreciate the canvas on which the Almighty paints. They also bring his presence to the forefront of our existence bringing us to prayer. And we were praying, out loud! Your pictures are really exquisite.!!!
